Lore
A brief story about the game
For many millennia, people in ancient Rome were calm and blissful. Unfortunately, the usual way of life changed after a meteorite fell on Earth, bringing dark forces led by the evil Tartarus. Monsters made up their minds to destroy humanity to seize and rule territories.
The Gods of the Capitol united their forces and joined a fierce battle to protect the people and prevent the monsters from carrying out their bloodthirsty plans. The battle was so vicious that 8 out of 12 Gods died, sacrificing their lives for the salvation of humankind. However, the remaining Gods managed to imprison Tartarus, thus temporarily ending the bloodshed.
To put an end to Tartarus and the monsters, the Gods arranged gladiatorial tournaments, where the primary task was to train the brave defenders of ancient Rome, whose mission was to protect humanity! The Gods endued the most courageous Roman fighters with certain powers and skills. Jupiter endowed the gladiators with the power of lightning, Neptune with the power of water, Vulcan with the power of fire, and Terra with the power of the earth!
The inhabitants of ancient Rome decided to stand together to restore their former way of life. Grateful people began to support gladiators in every possible way so that defenders could constantly improve their skills. Fearless and gallant Romans began to participate in tournaments, where each swing of the sword brought them closer to victory over dark forces.
Your task, hero, is to become the most powerful gladiator to help humanity win the war and reinstate peace and prosperity in ancient Rome!
Deities of Ancient Rome
In total, in ancient Rome, there are about 200 deities of various types. There will be 4 in the game at the start. Each is responsible for their element.
Neptune - water Terra - earth Volcan - fire Jupiter - electricity
Deities determine the type of gladiators. Everyone has their preference and interpretations.
Neptune’s archetype is the “Chaser”. Close and mid range gladiators. They wear light armor with various weaponry. Their main task is to catch and control fleeing enemies. They can initiate fights, temporarily disabling combatants, shutting down opposing rangers. Fast and mobile, excelling at hit and run tactics!
Terra’s archetype is the “Heavy”. Close range gladiators. They wear heavy armor with shields. Their main task is to shield their teammates from incoming enemy attacks. They are a bit slower and aim to hold back opposing fighters. Taking hits is what their armor is for!
Vulcan’s archetype is the “Warrior”. Close range gladiators. They wear medium armor with two weapons. Their main task is to get “close and personal” to punish their opponents. Once in range their flurry of blows can wear down their targets fast!
Jupiter’s archetype is the “Ranger”. Mid and long range gladiators. They wear light armor with ranged weapons. Their main task is to shower the enemies with projectiles. Hiding behind their more armored teammates and popping out at the right moment is what they excel at!
Historical Gladiators
They are the basis of concepts. We put a little fantasy on them. Since there are not many historical gladiators, and they all performed a narrow role, we will have to supplement the ranks with fictional characters. Others are very similar and spread across the timeline, transitioning from one to the other. We take all the possible ones in the entire history of Rome, use as many of them as possible, and supplement them with fictitious thematic classes of gladiators.
Historical gladiators serve as a basis and a reference in appearance, equipment, and style of combat. Those who need to be modified, are modified for the game and transferred to our world. As a result, we get a historical base, diluted with a few fictional classes and wrapped in a shell of fantasy.
Characters
Each gladiator is a unique resident of the world; they all have stories and personalities. They are driven by their tempers and desires like any living person.
