Social Components

All multiplayer games need to have a social component that allows players to interact with each other. GH is no exception, moreover, since we have direct contact between players in the game, the social part should be advanced.

Platforms for self-expression, cooperation, communication, and other interactions. In the game itself, such opportunities are very limited due to the specifics of the genre.

For self-expression and projection of oneself into the world of GH, the player is allowed to customize his profile, which will be displayed to other players. This is the player's public face - Avatar.

Communication within the game will take place in the form of a text chat. The chat will be divided into several rooms. If necessary, the number of rooms can be changed, initially, only the most basic options are provided.

Outside of the game, there will be one platform for players to communicate with each other and the company. This is a discord room where the flow of users will be actively directed. The main interaction between developers and players is planned there. There will be sections to help players establish commerce - branches for searching, buying and selling things. Discord is planned to be used as a tool for different kinds of reports from players, be it bugs and problems or rule violations. This is in addition to the usual discord content.

Inside the game, there will be various tables with ranks and tops. Changes in the top 3 of each ladder are planned to be used as an alert in the chat or a ticker in the hub interface. All tops are always available for viewing by users, and their ranks are displayed in the "Avatar".

The main social part falls on guilds and related content. This direction will be constantly replenished and deepened. Joining a guild will be encouraged. A practical additional layer of content for players that is not available outside of guilds. Guilds are powerful tools and should not be underestimated.

Gladiator Schools

One of the main social areas is guild content. Playing with friends and peers of interest is always more fun! The game is predisposed to the creation of game teams. In Gladiators, guilds are called "Gladiator Schools" in which the player is one of the trainers with his gladiators.

Guilds, in addition to social benefits, also give certain bonuses to players. Inside the guilds, there is a ladder where the most active players receive reward chests every month. Reward chests can contain any craftable items and sometimes more... (guild drops)

There are also leaderboards between guilds where the best of the best schools receive prizes for their contribution to the fight against the coming evil. The most active and strong guilds will periodically receive rewards from the Emperor and the gods themselves! (guild drops)

Gladiator Schools will offer additional content and challenges to players. At first, these will be guild wars, then when PvE is added, there will be their own bosses and missions. An option is being considered with guild leveling and additional mechanics as guild storage where players can store items and those authorized to distribute them to those in need.

Fights between schools will take place at a fixed interval, at the moment it has been established to be every 2 weeks. Players will be able to participate alone, in a duo or trio. All fights are knockout, and all players in this event have one life. For defeating other players and for winning the match, points are awarded to the winner personally and to the guild he represents.

Anyone can create a guild. The recruitment of players will take place both inside and outside of the game. Within the game, players can freely join and leave guilds. When leaving the guild, players are blocked from joining another guild for 24 hours.

It is planned to introduce a referral system to attract new players to the game, who would immediately get into the guild. Guilds receive activity points and referrals receive a bonus. When introducing these mechanics, restrictions will be put in place to avoid exploits and abuses.

Ladders

The game will have several leaderboards that display the rating of players, guilds, and events. For individual contests, temporary boards will be created. Depending on these boards, seasonal additional rewards and achievements will be issued.

For example, at the end of the first season of Origin, it is planned to give out achievements and rewards to everyone who is placed in the tops of the permanent boards - in addition to seasonal rewards for seasonal ladders.

The ability to add individual boards for any event is always present. The system allows you to add boards and their configuration. Setting the time and parameters of counting. For this purpose, a record should be kept of the player's actions, to calculate all things possible at the start of a board. The wider the information collected, the more possibilities to customize leaderboards.

Boards will be constantly available:

Top “honor” players (solo / duo / trio)

The main general ladder shows all players in the ranking. Honor is a conditional indicator of the player's strength in the corresponding mode. The player will have three types of personal honor. Solo, duo, and trio.

Top “honor” teams (duo / trio)

Each team will have its ladder for each mode separately.

Top PvP/PvE wins

Rating by battles won. PvP and PvE ladders are separately displayed.

Top guilds

This ladder displays the ranking of all guilds. Essentially displays guild activity. Each guild receives points for players in each activity in completing various guild tasks. Participation in guild events as a fight with another guild or with a boss (add-on).

Top inside the guild

Displays all guild members and their contribution to the guild by participating in various events and completing tasks. Guild activity.

Temporary/seasonal boards:

Top PvP/PvE tournament

After each tournament, there will always be boards with the winners and information until the next tournament. The day before it, the boards are reset to zero and filled in a new way. The teams and the places they took are displayed here.

Top of the season

Displays player activity for a specific season. These boards are archived and reset at the end of the season.

In-Game Chat

When adding guild content, we will have to provide an option for communication. The easiest approach is of course the in-game chat, with basic functionality. When adding such a function, we need to consider how much it is needed, and with what types of channels. It can be made as a pure guild theme which will greatly encourage joining guilds and should help form social guilds where people are going to interact.

Possible channel options

  • General (all)

  • Guild (guild members)

  • Buy/Sell (WTB/WTS) (spam channel)

  • Notifications (system, rewards, achievements, global achievements)

Each channel should be possible to mute. Chat server runs separately from the game. Everything should be disabled in it except text entry. All text in the channels should be recorded in text logs.

Player Avatar

Many players want to have a more unique representation of themselves in the game, and given the format of the Gladiators, this can be done through account customization. Player’s account - the player's avatar. To accomplish this, it is planned to introduce detailed personalization and customization.

Our plans are to make customization as detailed as possible, which will include as many elements as possible. Each element will contain several options to choose from and will be replenished as the game progresses.

In addition to the usual parts, there will also be parts received for certain actions, for example, for achievements. Many can be created in the Essence Workshop and/or purchased from other players on the market. Seasonal elements are also planned, which would include unique ones for high ranks in ladders.

A complete list of elements for customization is not yet defined at this stage, however here are some examples for better understanding:

  • Avatar picture (gladiators)

  • Picture frame

  • Effect (visual)

  • Battle chants (emoji)

  • Backs

  • Banners under nicknames

Discord

The main platform for communication will be the discord. Both between player-player and between the system-player. We have already set up a discord community server with general functionality. It will be finalized and include all the functionality of the forum, as it was previously accustomed to the projects. We will not have a forum.

A centralized system will make it easier to communicate between players as everyone will be in one easily accessible place. It will help moderators and community managers promptly respond to emerging questions and problems.

The plan is to make a structure with additional ranks that will reflect the achievements of the participants in the game.
